Catlett Road Substation Project

Description: This project, located in Madison, involves the following:

  • Construction of a new 230kV substation cutting in on the existing Bozeman to Tinnin 230kV line.
  • Construction of approximately 8.55 miles of 230kV line from the new Catlett Road substation to the existing South Canton substation.
  • Construction of approximately 6.2 miles of new distribution lines.

Cost: Approximately $58 million. 

Benefits: This project addresses future load growth and reliability needs in Madison county.

Flowers Area Improvement Plan

Description: This project, located in Flowers, involves the following:

  • Reconfigure the 115kV lines in the Flowers/Bovina area to bring three 115kV lines into Flowers substation.
  • Rebuild two lines in the area to obtain a higher thermal rating.
  • Install transmission breakers, bypass breaker and a transfer bus at the Flowers substation. 

Cost: Approximately $36 million. 

Benefits: This project will greatly improve the transmission reliability for the Flowers area, including the Flowers industrial site.

Pinetree 230 kV Substation

Description: This project constructs a new distribution substation that taps into the Church Rd to Getwell 230 kV line. The new substation will be located on west side of the City of Hernando.

Cost: Approximately $56 million. 

Status: The project is expected to be placed in service in the Summer of 2024. 

Benefits: This project improves transmission reliability and addresses projected load growth in Desoto County.


Snowden Park 115 kV Substation

Description: This project constructs a new distribution substation that cuts into the existing Greenbrook – Plum Point 115 kV line with ~2 miles of loop transmission to the new substation.

Cost: Approximately $37 million.

Status: The project is expected to be placed in service in the summer of 2023.

Benefits: This project addresses projected load growth and reliability needs in the Southaven area.
